Switchable smart glass is a type of glass that can change its transparency or opacity with the application of an electrical voltage. It is also known as smart glass, switchable glass, or privacy glass.

The glass contains a layer of liquid crystal molecules that are aligned in a specific direction by an electric field. When no voltage is applied, the molecules scatter light, making the glass opaque. When a voltage is applied, the molecules align in a different direction, allowing light to pass through and making the glass transparent.
